Starting from the scratch, we draw and measure people's head (width, height, and circumference) in a piece of paper, this is so hard phase, We need to make it flexible and comfortable to wearer.
After drawing phase complete, we translate it into a 3D Design using online 3D software and printing a prototype. We try to put on the shield, and we comfortable with it, time to bring this design into production.
The production phase begin, we produce this shield and ordering some parts needed, like flat-rubber, and cover plastics, hope this product will help medical front-liner !

Adjust by changing the hole on the flat rubber.
Make 4 hole on the plastic sheet using paper hole punch. You can download the plastic sheet measurement guide below :
Place the plastic sheet into the pins on the 3D Printed Parts, make sure it's tight enough and doesn't fall off.
It is best to use normal rubber bands on the back-hook on the 3D Printed Parts to ensure the plastic sheet doesn't fall off.
There you go, your new DIY face shield is ready to wear.
This 3D Printed Face Shield can help wearer / doctors who need protective equipment to protect some droplets while take care patients.
3D Printed Face Shield made from melting plastic around 220 degree celcius, which means it will be sterilized due to high temperature during printing process, but in terms of storage, packing and another human-contact after production is a great questions. We won't be able to sterilize these masks effectively, so we might be causing more problems. We have soak it using disinfectant / 70% alcohol first before package.
This 3D Printed face shield is porous object, and safety concern come from that. Please keep in mind, humid and warm place is a perfect breeding ground for germs / bacterias, especially in porous things. Wearer will put mask on their face to help protect ONLY from droplet from patients such as spit, blood spatters, large droplets, dust, etc. This shield cannot protect You from airborne virus, N95 masks do.
This is debate around the world about corona-virus lives on plastic materials for several days, to be safe, please spray it with disinfectant and leave it for 3 days to 4 days in a sealed bag, use another face shield OR discard this shield after use (SINGLE-USE ONLY).
